Aspen Grove

This awesome photograph comes to us from Joy Nudd of Garrett Nudd Photography which is based in Orlando Florida and Chattanooga Tennessee. Joy and Garrett will be hosting the Elevate Seminar in Orlando in January 2007.

The bride and groom really wanted to shoot in this grove of Aspen trees at the top of a mountain. So they agreed to see each other before the wedding. After shooting several tight shots, I pulled back and shot this one much wider. The trees were beautiful and this image does a good job of showing them off. We spent about 20 minutes shooting in the grove and it was one of the most peaceful and surreal locations we’ve ever been. Major props to the bride for hiking through the woods in her dress BEFORE the ceremony!

Beautiful! Where do I find brides and grooms like this, Garrett? We’re lucky if 1 in 10 agree to see each other beforehand, much less go for a hike! Great work. \o/

Hey guys, thanks for the comments. I was really excited when I saw the shot Joy got. I’m blessed to work with someone who sees things totally different from me and who compliments my style. πŸ™‚

What a beautiful setting! I love being in the woods and need people wiling to hike in as well πŸ™‚ Nothing like nature for background!!
Nice job Joy! Love it! I have a lot of WhiteBirch groves in the woods behind my home and they are similar to the Colorado Aspen, and have always wanted to shoot within them. Now I KNOW how great it can look!

Joy, you really nailed it with this shot. A tight shot shows more detail in the couple, but pulling back like you did, added so much more to the photo. That is what makes this one stand out in my mind. Well done!
